Fancourt is awarded South Africa 's Leading Golf Resort by The World Travel Awards. The event forms part of a World Travel Awards Grand Tour with regional awards staged throughout the world.
The South African Open Championship, taking place from 18 to 21 December, is to welcome a world-class field of players to Pearl Valley Golf Estates for the 2008 event. Quite some players on the European Tour Order of Merit will join a strong field of South African players including Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.
In May the official inauguration of the new 18-hole-round of Golf Novo Sancti Petri took place. The golf complex which now offers three 18-hole-rounds has now become one of the largest resorts in Spain.
Following the decision of the Board of Directors of Silgolf, the company managing golf and related service in Herdade da Aroeira, the facilities used by Herdade will undergo thorough restructuring with a view to their improvement.
